Keyworth Eagle Explorers is the senior section of Scouts catering for 14 – 18 year olds.   We meet on Tuesday evening from 7.30pm to 9.00pm.  The section is lead by David Day and assisted by Chris Milne and.

We encourage our members to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh Award (DofE) Scheme, in addition to working towards the Diamond and Platinum Chief Scout’s Award and the pinnacle of scouting achievement, the King’s Scout Award.  During their time in Explorers our young people become increasingly independent and often work in teams to organise their termly programme and expeditions for DofE and the like.

Many of our activities take place away from the Scout Hut at venues that offer climbing, shooting, canoeing etc. and we always try to accommodate those who need help with transport to activities.

We expect Explorers to be role models for our younger members and help out at Section events and support the leadership team at Camps.  Scout Association Young Leader Training is provided to give them life skills and enhance their potential for further education and employment opportunities.

A number of our young people have been lucky enough to attend recent World Scout Jamborees, representing us in Sweden, Japan and the USA.

If you are interested in helping out, or are a young person who would like to join, please use our contact page
