The village quiz has started its 40th consecutive season on the 26th January. It has been won by Willow Brook School for the last two years so it was a relief not to be drawn against them!
First up was the Scouts Uniformed against the Turkey Trotters. At least we were guaranteed that one team would make it into the next round! Boddington had a real problem of which team to support but decided on Uniformed. He now has a little brother call Halfpint who was the Turkey Trotters mascot. The Turkey Trotters made it to the Semi Finals last year so were the favourites going into the round as the Uniformed has not made it past the first round for a few years. The shock result of 35 v 59 meant it was the Uniformed who went into the next round.
The parents team, without me this year due to ill health, didn’t manage to get past the Tennis Club who managed a great come back in the final buzzer round. We lost by two points 43 v 41.
The Cubs along with their parents served the refreshments at half time. This is a lovely time to have a well deserved cup of tea or coffee with a biscuit or two and catch up with friends.
If you are free at 8 pm on the 2nd March please come along to the village hall and cheer on the Uniformed Scouts who are up against the Tennis Club. Can they avenge the defeat of the Scouts Parents?
Thanks to everyone who came along to support the teams.
